This image was shot by AP photography student Kayla Mancuso. In the beginning of the year, AP students are asked to start developing a portfolio of photographs with a clear theme. Kayla is exploring portraiture and creating a story behind each of her models. The model for this shoot is Rina Huang and her role for the picture is peacefull death.

I think it is interesting that the model is wearing make-up. Because her eyes are closed and she is clutching the flowers to her chest it reminds me of death. However, at the same time she looks full of life as if she were relaxing after a wonderful day.
